Objectives

Bringing together Aerospace enthusiasts, students, researchers and experts seeking to leverage their knowledge, live their dreams and lift their wings for the benefit of Algeria.

The starting point is to mainstream the existing efforts and create bridges between Technical Schools/Universities and the World-Class Industry in order to work together for building human capacities, promoting innov

Problem Definition

The industrial sector in Algeria has not reached a maturity level to drive universities into setting curriculums and research objectives to respond to industrial and practical needs. This has a direct impact on University deliverables and reduced its role in terms of generating new ideas and innovations.

Gap Analysis

Aerospace sector in Algeria knows a very slow advancement compared to other North African countries like Morocco, which is currently boasting 140 aerospace companies, generating 16,700 direct jobs and reaching 13.8% of local integration*. This gap can be explained by several factors that affect negatively the development process of aerospace industry in Algeria such as: lack of aerospace related fields of study and curriculums in our universities, weak collaboration between universities and industry, low level of manufacturing capabilities in terms of production chains/technologies, lack of research and development projects related to aerospace.

Opportunity

The high caliber of technical resources/manpower, Geographic localization to compete with worldwide Aerospace supply chain and emergent countries, Opportunity for a shortcut with the Aerospace 4.0 transformation.

Next Steps

In order to establish focus, we propose the following steps in order to measure the gaps for a readiness to emerge into the aerospace industry in Algeria: Benchmark the curriculums with worldwide leading universities and training centers in Aerospace. Involve the industrial ecosystem in reviewing manufacturing capabilities in Algeria for producing experimental and production units for the Aerospace project. Involve Experts, University and Professional students in reviewing the Aerospace projec
