Title: Material Testing: A Focus on Mechanical Properties
In this presentation, the focus is on standard test procedures for common materials. Basic mechanical properties are highlighted. The concept of testing conditions and their effect on test data, mainly the stress-strain curve, is illustrated under different loading conditions. In this presentation, a background and experience in material testing is provided.

Third Generation of Solar Cells: Nanotechnology Based Quantum-Dots Solar Cells

Renewable Energies
Sunday 14-May-2023 at 7:00pm Algerian Time (GMT+1)

Thanks to Nanotechnology that Quantum dot based-solar cells have seen their performance improving. Quantum dots are nano-sized semiconductor particles that absorb light and convert it into energy. Depending on their sizes, when used in solar cells, they can capture a wider range of the light spectrum. They also have the potential to be cheaper to produce and more flexible than traditional silicon solar cells. Quantum dot solar cells are still in the experimental phase, but they have shown promising results in laboratory tests. Nowadays, new breakthrough has been achieved when using Lead halide perovskite as quantum dots (PQDs).
