As part of the Whitepaper’s Project, the International Network of Algerian Scientists (INAS) invites researchers and experts to contribute scientific articles on important topics within the scientific community, discussing these issues within the Algerian context and providing solutions to the associated challenges. Approved articles will be published on INAS website and our various social media platforms.
Climate Change and Sustainable Development in Algeria
Algeria is dealing with increasing impact of climate change as many other countries worldwide, reflected in unusual rises in temperature, reduced annual rainfall, and extreme weather phenomena such as floods, wildfires, and coastal erosion. These challenges don’t only threaten biodiversity and natural resources but also present a security risk that threatens the safety of citizens. In this regard, the study of effective management strategies has become a national priority.
When choosing this subject, one of the following topics (or others), can be highlighted within the Algerian context:
- Flood management strategies,
- Innovative approaches to combating wildfires,
- Coastal and marine biodiversity protection,
- Building social and urban resilience
Through the Whitepaper project, our goal is to evaluate the current state of the situation and propose innovative solutions, based on scientific research and local expertise, to support the sustainability of the environmental future in Algeria.
